Big Violet is a five-piece Americana Rock powerhouse blending introspection, soul, and raw musicality into every performance. Anchored by the commanding presence of their lead female vocalist Audra Rodgers, the band’s sound weaves together heartfelt lyrics, intricate harmonies, and dynamic instrumentation—including the stirring voice of the violin. Rooted in the storytelling tradition of Americana and energized by rock’s unrelenting spirit, Big Violet creates a sonic landscape that is as emotionally resonant as it is musically captivating. Fun Band Facts: 

Audra Rodgers (Lead Vocalist, Primary Songwriter) plays 13 instruments, including the musical saw. She has toured internationally with an award winning acapella choir and has played in (almost) every genre of band, from Jazz to Metal to Bluegrass. She has been part of over a dozen albums, including two of her own singer-songwriter albums. 

Bill Anderson (Guitar) has played with and/or collaborated with such talented folks as Neko Case, Jon Langford, and Daniel Johnston. He has recorded 20+ albums with bands like Poison 13 (on Sub Pop), the Meat Purveyors (on Bloodshot), and Big Foot Chester (on Sympathy for the Record Industry).  In 2004 he was voted into the Austin Chronicle Texas Music Hall of Fame. 

Randy Morris (Drums, Harmony) has played and recorded for many artists, including LA based Dave Hawkins. He enjoyed a run with Big Money Records out of Minneapolis and has shared credits with Pete Thomas of Elvis Costello, Ken Stringfellow of The Posies and REM, and Gary Louris of The Jayhawks to name a few. He has played with Sony artists Verbow, sharing tours with bands such as Counting Crows and Live.
