Big Violet EPK
“Big Violet hits the stage with a powerhouse female lead who’ll grab your heart (and maybe your soul), harmonies that sneak up and refuse to let go, lyrics that hit where it counts, and a stage presence that’s equal parts charm, power, and pure “can’t-look-away” energy. Dance, cry, laugh, repeat; this band doesn’t do dull.”

Bio
Big Violet is what happens when five musicians from Taos, NM decide to “just jam for fun” and then accidentally form a band people actually want to see. Originally a side project in 2022, it quickly snowballed into a full-blown Rock machine.
On stage, Big Violet is equal parts grit and glitter: powerhouse vocals, guitar riffs hot enough to fry an egg, harmonies that sneak up on you, violin lines that haunt your dreams (in a good way), and a rhythm section that won’t let you sit still. The songs? Tales of bad decisions you don’t regret, jobs you had to quit, desert motorcycle rides, heartbreak, rebirth, and everything in between.
Whether you’re a mosher, a two-stepper, or someone just trying to figure out what it all means, Big Violet will meet you there. They’ll make you laugh, make you dance, maybe even make you cry, but one thing’s for sure: you won’t leave bored.
Performance Highlights:
Lead vocals: A powerhouse female voice that grabs your attention, tugs at your heart, and might make you question all your life choices.
Harmonies & arrangements: Thoughtfully layered, surprisingly sneaky, and occasionally haunting.
Lyrics: Introspective, relatable, and occasionally devastating. Expect stories about love, loss, and figuring out who the hell you are.
Stage presence: Equal parts charm and mischief, keeping audiences hooked and dancing.

Alex Cserhat (Bass) grew up between New York City and Los Angeles, playing in bands before landing in Taos in his late twenties. Since then, he’s been performing in the local scene with The Humm, Sonny Boy Robinson and the Pain Killas, Junk, The Rude Band with Tom Moncrieff, and Taos favorite Cradle. He got his first bass at fifteen from his mother’s English rocker boyfriend, who taught him one essential rule: you were either a Beatles person or a Rolling Stones person. Alex chose the Stones. Decades later, that early influence still shows up in his playing; grounded and always in service of the groove.
Kenna Tuggle (Violin, Harmony)is a somatic coach, teacher, writer, and musician based in Taos, New Mexico. With a background in classical music, Kenna has harbored a love of folk and rock music her whole life. She has collaborated with artists around the country from Nashville to LA throughout her career, most recently focusing on the award winning folk trio Audra Rodgers and The Sweethearts and, of course, Big Violet. Kenna loves to create and share art with awesome people.

Upcoming Releases
Big Violet recently recorded their first songs as a band - a full length album with a Grammy-award winning producer based out of New Orleans. The album is 10 all original songs. They also shot 4 music videos and all of this content is set to be released over the next several months. Included in this press is kit is a top-secret sneak-peek at "Chaos Queen” and “Caricature”
Audra’s songwriting spans a broad territory of style and content, from cheeky and cute to devastatingly heartfelt to angry and rebellious. Her previous works have had a very different character, leaning more folk and embedded with subtlety and nuance. Big Violet is a horse of different color altogether. We chose these three very different songs as our initial offering to the public to showcase the breadth and skill of this group of musicians.
